Early in
the Journey Newsletter 11
2. Something for Your Heart
Today, right now, is Nicole's official due
date! As of this writing (just after
1:30-am) he has not made his arrival yet. We
will be visiting the doctor tomorrow and
hope to have some indication of when to
expect him.
Because of my undying commitment to you,
class will proceed as normal this Sunday. We
will continue in Romans with Chapter 6. This
week's lesson is written and read to go, so
if I am not able to be there, Brian has
agreed to step in and cover for me.
We will wrap up Romans 6 this week and move
right in chapter 7 next week. This is one of
the most unexpected, out of place, yet
incredible chapters in the whole bible. Well
at least until we get to Chapter 8.
I am telling you, the next few lessons are
going to be ones you will not want to miss.
I'm serious. It is going to be good.
Finally, anyone have any advice for a couple
of first time parents? We would love to hear
it.
2. SOMETHING FOR YOUR HEART
A little different this week. I am going
to give you the illustration and you
respond back to me with the biblical
point or moral that would follow. Kind
of, almost, something like Jeopardy.
Best one gets any CD they want.
A mother looked out a window and saw
Johnny playing church with their three
kittens. He had them lined up and was
preaching to them. The mother turned
around to do some work, but soon she
heard meowing and scratching on the
door.
She went to the window and saw Johnny
baptizing the kittens. She opened the
window and said, “Johnny, stop that!
You’ll drown those kittens.”
Johnny looked at her and said with much
conviction in his voice: “They should
have thought of that before they joined
my church.”

What else was going on in the world
on the day you were born? (Or any
other day is history.) Here's where
you can find out the top news
headlines, songs, TV shows, toys,
books, and a bunch of other stuff.
Find out what Jesus really did, what
he really said, and who he
really claimed to be.
I did not even understand most of
the words on this site, but all of
you crafty people will love it.

Skepticism has not founded empires,
established principles, or changed
the world's heart. The great doers
of history have always been men of
faith.
"A Christian is someone who shares
the sufferings of God in the world."
"Be patient with everyone, but above
all with yourself."
"Let there be kindness in your face,
in your eyes, in your smile, in the
warmth of your greeting...Don't only
give your care, but give your heart
as well."
Here is the "Best of" Weird News
from 2007
A Greek nunnery turned into a
marijuana farm by two men posing
as gardeners
A South African man with a
gunshot wound told by a doctor
to "walk the pain off."
If only these were the worst:
I'm opposed to picketing,
but I don't know how to show
it.
Please be praying for us
over these next few days.
Our life is about to
dramatically change forever.
I was serious about giving
us advice. We will take all
that we can get. Hopefully
the next newsletter will
contain little more than a
picture. We are so pumped
for this to happen!
So for the first time, I
hope that I
will not see you
Sunday, but I will be
thinking of you as our
journey through what Martin
Luther called a masterpiece
continues.
