IMBACH'S
OUTBOX . . .
by
Kurt Imbach
As you might have guessed by now, our church is becoming more and more
committed to making small fellowship units the priority mechanism for
growth. We see it as a vital device for the increase of fellowship
connection, spiritual growth, and movement forward. This means that:
1. My main energies will be directed toward the birth and nurture of
small groups.
2. For anyone desiring better integration into the life of the
church with sense of belonging, closer connection, better support, and
better opportunities to be supportive and make use of your own gifts and
abilities, this will be the main way. Please let me help you become
involved
3. We will need more facilitators as time goes on. There can
be no more rewarding ministry. If you sense any interest at all,
please let me know and I will be glad to talk with you and provide whatever
support is necessary to allow you to work into this at your own pace and in
a successful way. I am writing to many who may already be comfortably
settled into a group now, but who God may be nudging to a willingness to be
a leader at the heart of this exciting movement.
4. All existing groups need to be thinking in terms of growth, in
terms of spiritual walk, in deeper relationships, and in terms of
outreach contribution.
At least 10 of the groups will continue through the summer, at least on a
social level for continuity, then re-energize in the fall with new direction
and commitment. It is great to see that so many have decided that this
is to be essential for their spiritual growth. I know that at least
15-20 people are somewhat dislocated by the necessary changes in another 3-4
groups. I look forward to helping you become re-connected.
Please be in touch.
In addition, the Young Adults will continue meeting on a semi-monthly
basis, and will be establishing their own identity as a peer fellowship
under the direction of a newly formed and vital leadership group.
Please be praying for God’s will to be done in the raising up of leaders,
the healthy working of the groups, in the putting together of new
groups, and in the growing spiritual commitment of our entire congregation.
