Our worship life holds rich experience as together we give praise to God and seek God's Word each week. 

Discipleship (During the School Year)
You were created to be like Christ, “…to grow up in every way into Christ” (Eph. 4:15).  Here is the place to start and then maintain the basic habits of life and faith that will carry you into a full life of spiritual maturity.  (All classes are on Sunday mornings except for Saturday Seminars.)

v      Nursery  (3 months to 3 years old)

Located downstairs in Fellowship Hall (below the sanctuary) during both the 9:30 am and 11:00 am services.  Permanent Staff lovingly cares for your little ones while you worship.

v      Preschool  (3 years through Kindergarten)

Bible stories, crafts and songs lay the foundation for a life of loving Jesus.  In Heritage Hall /downstairs 9:30  - 10:30am during the school year.

v      Elementary (1st through 5th grades)

The  children continue to grow in their faith as they develop relationships with God and each other in a curriculum designed transform students into participants in God’s Work.  In Heritage Hall/downstairs 9:30 –10:30 am during school year.  During the summer the children will go downstairs right after the children's sermon in the 8:30 Breakfast Service for fun, crafts, games, music, and JESUS!
 

v      Middle School  (6th through 8th grades)

Children learn how God is alive in their lives by linking their own experiences (home, school, friends) to the Bible study topic being presented. David C. Cook—The Rock. Blue House/ Upstairs 9:30 –10:30 am during the school year.

v      High School  (9th through 12th grades)

A journey together with friends in Christ- there’s no map - but we always end up closer to God.  In the Blue House 11:00 am - 12:00 pm during the school year.

v      Adult Sunday School

The Adult Sunday School meets during the school year at 9:30 in the Blue House Conference Room.  It is wheelchair accessible.  Contact the church office at 679-3579 for the current topic of study.

v      Adult Saturday Seminars

Different levels of adult curriculum have been developed to help our members grow in faith, become mature in spirit, and function effectively in whatever place Christ leads us to live out our faith.  Everyone is encouraged to complete the various levels as they become available.  A Saturday Seminar format is used for maximum coherence and effective scheduling.  Watch for current and upcoming courses in the weekly bulletin and the monthly newsletter.  Click here to see a list of courses.
 

Fellowship
You were formed for God’s family.  This is where you really get connected as you discover who we are and why we are here, how we are to be growing in Christ and changing our world, and what it means to be a committed Christian in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

v      Life Groups - Small Groups (6-15 per group)
WPC followers of Christ who meet regularly to foster support and spiritual growth through fellowship, study and prayer.  Nearly 150 people attend a Life Group.  Everyone is welcome.  Please contact Kurt Imbach through the church office if interested.

v      Early in the Journey (EIJ)
Early in the Journey or EIJ is a social networking of 20 - 40+ year olds who are experimenting to find suitable times, materials and structures (all peers together or several Life Groups). One Bible study is available on-line - e-mail Justin Ross at Justin@whidbeypres.org.  Another, with Kurt Imbach, meets on Thursdays in Heritage Hall at 6:00 pm.

v      Youth Groups

v     Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a fun-filled spiritual adventure for children ages 3-through 6th grade that provides Bible study

and encourages real-life application.  In 2008 VBS will be Monday June 23rd - Friday 27th.

v      Barnabas

Barnabas meets at Noon in Heritage Hall on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.  The group's main focus is prayer for missions, but a natural by-product is fellowship.  Bring your lunch!

v      Presbyterian Women

The fellowship at WPC is open to all women.  Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at Noon in Heritage Hall.  Hostesses serve dessert following a sack lunch.  Several meetings are potluck.  Additional get-togethers are scheduled to work on the Christmas Boutique (arts and crafts fundraiser) and mission projects (fund spender).

v      Men's Breakfast

The men meet in Heritage Hall from 7 am to about 8:30 am on Thursday mornings year 'round.  After a hot breakfast, fellowship continues through a short, informal business meeting where current projects are addressed.  This is followed by a brisk, but insightful Bible Study and prayer time.  They then break ready for the rest of the day.

v      Tall Timber Family Snow Camp
The first weekend in February is reserved for cross-country skiing, tubing, fellowship and fun!  In 2008 over 100 members of WPC, young and old, braved a record snow fall to get to our little patch of heaven on earth!  Watch for sign-ups beginning just after Thanksgiving.

v      Mariners Baseball Game
Another annual favorite, the WPC church family gets together for baseball, hotdogs and the seventh inning stretch!  In 2008 this All-American event will be July 4th.

v      Tall Timber Summer Camp
Children return year after year to attend this jewel in the Cascades, reveling in the great outdoors and discovering a deeper relationship with Jesus.  Family camps and work camps are also available.

v      Annual Church Picnic
Usually in September before the weather begins to turn, WPC gathers for fun and games and fellowship at a local beach.  2007’s picnic was held at Windjammer Park.

Ministry

Our members continue to grow as they discover their gifts and use them in serving Christ through the ministries of the church.  Volunteers of all ages are engaged in ministry throughout the life of the congregation under the leadership of the governing body, the Session.  We also maintain an active prayer ministry, Stephen Ministry, and Board of Deacons as we seek to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
