Music

Whidbey Presbyterian Church is known for its outstanding music program. We believe through singing we amplify and illuminate God's Word as it is proclaimed in worship each week. And we rejoice that we are able to "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord." Music serves as an enhancement to worship, an enrichment for young and old, and an inspiring vehicle for community service. Music and drama are important gifts from God. We believe that we are called by God to use our creative talents to help communicate the Good News to the people.

Our program includes:

CHANCEL CHOIR:
This adult choir consists of about 40 people, which enables us to sing a broad range of music from Bach to Gospel. Our repertoire is challenging and diverse. The choir has presented several major works. We provide worship leadership for the 11:00 a.m. worship service September through May. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m., a time of great music, a devotional time and wonderful fellowship. The members give their best to God and to each other.

OUR PRAISE TEAM leads us in singing praises to God throughout the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Our musicians use a keyboard or piano, guitar and bass guitar and drums for our more informal contemporary service. Our purpose is to glorify God, proclaim His Word, and minister to and through God's people.
